In celebration of its third consecutive Five-Star Award, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila recently welcomed Forbes Travel Guide Chief Executive Officer Filip Boyen, together with Vice President for External Services Peter Kressaty, and Vice President for Asia Pacific Ryo Koike, last 9 March 2019. The hotel is the first non-gaming property in the country to receive this highly-coveted award three years in a row.
Forbes Travel Guide is the only global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, and spas, with anonymous professional inspectors evaluate based on hundreds of objective standards. During their official tour, the Forbes Travel Guide executive team is scheduled to visit 128 hotels in 3 weeks to personally congratulate the acclaimed hotels. They were welcomed by the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila management committee, led by General Manager Frank Reichenbach and Xin Tian Ti (XTT) President Samuel L. Po.
“There are only 211 hotels in the world that have the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award. It takes a lot of hard work, perseverance, total dedication, and consistency to get there,” said Mr. Boyen. “In the 61-year history of Forbes Travel Guide, our inspections are the toughest ever with our 900 standards—75% of which are based on service. At the end of the day, our ratings are about how you make the guests feel in your hotel,” he added.
