This February, sailors are expected to head in one direction for the 16th Philippine Hobie Challenge. Hobie sailors must be feeling the thrill as early as now for their new five destinations. It’s no wonder that the sailing scene is growing here in the Philippines. Being a tropical country with thousands of islands and beaches makes the Philippines a totally sailing paradise.
What will make this year’s Hobie Challenge extra special is the previous announcement by PHINSAF, that the Filipino mobile phone and electronics company, CHERRY MOBILE is the OFFICIAL TITLE SPONSOR of the 2016 Philippine Hobie Challenge. The sailors of the Philippine Inter-Island Sailing Foundation, Inc. (PHINSAF) learned about this as early as December 2015, so they celebrated a very #CHERRYCHRISTMAS.

Now in its 16th year, the Philippine Hobie Challenge, the country’s premier extreme regatta event organized by PHINSAF is set to take their seasoned sailing competitors from all over the world on a weeklong race quest to the wonderful islands of Central Visayas this coming February 2016!
Join the Philippine Hobie Challenge along with CHERRY MOBILE in exploring the many breathtaking and enchanting island destinations of the south! The challenge kicks off in majestic Cebu, the queen city of the south and heads down to peaceful and friendly Bohol, God’s little paradise. The week culminates with a grand finish in beautiful Siquijor, the island of fire!
Aside from being the ultimate competition, the Philippine Hobie Challenge has been raising awareness about the eco-friendly sports and sports tourism in the country. It also holds outreach activities together with its participants partaking in educational and medical efforts to in-need seaside communities in its pit stop – a tradition that started from simple donations in the past to becoming an integral part of the race.
