In our family, my husband is the kitchen’s boss. He’s the one in charge in cooking. He says that I’ll just take care of our three kids and house chores while he took care of our food. Every Sunday, He always make sure that our family gathers together over a good meal and good conversation. I also love to cook, so when I cook, I also make sure that it is something special.
So when Samsung told us that they are having a Grand Cook Off, I prepared one of my specialties as an entry to this online contest, Ginataang Manok sa Papaya. My Stepdad always cooks this for us when we were kids.
Ginataang Manok is a chicken stewed in coconut milk with Green Papaya. But what makes this dish special is in the coconut milk. Please finish the video to know this secret ingredient.
Ingredients:
1 Kilo of Chicken
1 Medium Green Papaya cut into thin slices
4 cups of coconut milk
4 cloves of minced garlic
1 medium onion
2 stalks lemongrass
5 pieces Siling Panigang
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
Siling Labuyo (optional)
Cooking Instructions:
Boil the chicken for 10 minutes, set aside. In a saucepan, put the coconut milk, garlic, onion and lemongrass then add the chicken then papaya. Make sure that you continue stirring to avoid the coconut milk sticking into the pan.
When the sauce thickens, add the siling panigang and season to taste.
Enjoy!
And by the way, the camera I used for this video is Samsung Galaxy S5…
