For global BPO TDCX, a well-known enabler of the country’s digital economy, it’s an intimate environment that motivates every employee to show up with a smile and do meaningful work each day; an environment where values are upheld and people are recognized, and everyone is surrounded by inclusive and friendly colleagues that help foster better collaboration. A workplace that continues to expand, yet does not lose sight of its values and mission in delivering meaningful impact.
This is what this premium boutique company continually strives to be for their employees. Determined to cultivate a positive company culture through their #BeHappier campaign, TDCX envisions that every person can feel safe, grow professionally, and have fun while doing what they do best in the workplace. This applies to all offices across all regions – whether you find yourself in a TDCX office in Asia or in Europe, expect to be greeted with the same welcoming energy.
TDCX Workspace Officer Reem Leonardo shares with us more insights on how she is able to #BeHappier through her own everyday work experiences.
People-centered
When asked about what makes her happy to be part of her team in TDCX, Reem replied that it is TDCX’s people-centeredness. “As a Workspace Officer, my day is composed of interacting with the employees and I especially love that everyone is just warm and welcoming. Here, no matter how busy one can get we try to find time to say hello or inject little chats with our colleagues. Truth be told, our work can get stressful sometimes but having this culture and environment makes working a lot easier.”
Reem also emphasized how the #BeHappier vibe and the ‘Welcome Home’ culture are evident and afforded to everyone from the top management down to third party suppliers. “You won’t even question that diversity, inclusion, and belongingness exist here. You will instantly feel it,” Reem enthused. “Whenever we have company-wide events such as dinners, we make sure to mix up the different teams sitting together. This allows more interaction with colleagues from other teams, and I can share that our colleagues welcome such opportunities; I wouldn’t be surprised to find each time that the room would be filled with lots of laughter and conversations.”
Beyond the work environment, the company also shows apparent concern for employee wellness and safety. Even amid the pandemic, TDCX was quick to address the many concerns brought by the quarantine, from providing accommodations for workspace officers who needed to work on-site, to helping others transition their work smoothly into the work-from-home setup, to proactively providing the necessary protective gear. The company had its people covered.
“It was a challenge at first to adapt to the many changes brought about by the pandemic; I’ve had to take on the duty of ensuring our colleagues are able to work comfortably. But I knew my efforts were well received since many have expressed their thanks,” Reem noted. “Everyone here is quick to show their appreciation for each other.”
Growth-minded
TDCX as a people-centered boutique company also paves more opportunities for a fulfilling career. The intimate employee set-up across the company’s many branches across the country means that every single person gets the professional support they need so that they can develop their own skillset that helps them excel in their field. Reem herself has learned to see her work as going beyond the transaction and focusing more on working together with clients to solve problems, and eventually building a working relationship based on trust. In this way, she is able to see herself more as a thought-partner who adds value to everyone’s work.
“It’s visible in our everyday work,” Reem explained. “It could be as simple as when I make sure that freebies such as snacks and free flowing coffee are always replenished on time. I personally find it satisfying whenever I see colleagues get excited over the variety of snacks we supply; I feel as if I’ve made their day. I also oversee our housekeeping team and ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to our standards and putting emphasis to the safety on-site; it gives me a deeper sense of responsibility to always be ahead of my game.”
As a global company, TDCX also allows its employees to experience a wide variety of cultures through interacting with their global counterparts and clients. “Teamwork and inclusivity are not only limited to the local office,” Reem added. “This gives everyone a chance to collaborate and learn from one another, to gain insights and widen perspectives that would ultimately help develop better solutions. Need to see different angles of a certain problem? Wonder how one thing works in another office? You can easily tap a colleague from Thailand for example, just shoot them an email or instant message and they’ll respond right away with their insights.”
When it comes to career growth or exploring new projects within the role, the leadership team is more than happy to engage in such conversations. “There was one time when I wanted to host a series of virtual game nights with our global offices to promote connectivity especially in this pandemic time,” Reem shared. “I proposed this to the leadership, and they were more than happy to connect me with key contacts and encouraged me to design and implement the project. I got to work on this together with global counterparts, and while I know I’m able to do great work here locally, I’m glad to extend this globally as well.”

Culture-bound
Cultivating TDCX’s positive company culture to #BeHappier is only possible through the people that come into the company—those that undeniably possess the TDCX DNA of commitment to positive impact, of striving to go above and beyond in the service of others, and of unrelenting hospitality and inclusivity wherever they go.
“Being a part of TDCX is something I consider a blessing. I’ve never been happier and excited to go to work. Apart from the above-average pay, the homey office spaces, and the excellent benefits, it’s the people I work with that makes it worth it.” Reem said. “It isn’t always easy, but from the very beginning of my journey here in TDCX, I can really say that I am home.”
