Everybody is expecting an intense hearing in the congress regarding the Mamasapano debacle. The heat and tension of the questions had built up. I can feel it even watching at home. I feel the torture like question being asked one by one, until a representative from Pangasinan changed the mood inside the house.
I guess almost everyone in that room knew the issue except for one–Pangasinan representative Cong. Kimi Cojuangco. It seems that the congresswoman did not do her home work before coming to the hearing.
The two-term congresswoman asked Philippine National Police officer-in-charge Deputy Director-General Leonardo Espina and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas if they considered resigning after Oplan Exodus was kept from them.
Cojuangco asked General Espina, “Why didn’t you step in when you found out there was a problem?”
Espina answered, “Kasi ma’am, ah… Truthfully, hindi ko alam kung ano ang nangyayari, napapa engkwentwo lang… Yun lang.”
“But as OIC, you had no idea?” Cojuangco cluelessly replied.
“Wala ma’am… zero. I was kept out of the loop,” he said.
Then out of the blue Cojuangco said, “Don’t you feel like resigning?”
Espina answere, “Maybe together with the secretary, ma’am.” Then laughter was heard all over the room.
Cojuangco, as clueless as she is, said, “Yeah, Secretary Mar, don’t you feel like resigning?”
I can’t get over with the congresswoman’s statements and I am still laughing about it while I am writing this. I even searched for a video and found one on GMA News and watched it again. That was really funny as I enjoyed laughing while watching the video.
Video is from GMA News and Public Affairs Youtube Channel
I am really not sure why the congresswoman was asking those questions. Is she really trying to point out something or she really didn’t knew that the PNP-OIC and DILG Secretary were kept out of the loop during the Oplan Exodus?
Either way, she should have done a little research and come to the hearing prepared. She has her staff that can do the research for her, or I guess she really enjoyed her holy week vacation and forgot that there is an upcoming hearing for her to attend.
