The Asia Pacific Predator League 2020 which was initially slated to take place last February 2020 has officially been moved to spring 2021 in the Philippines, following health and safety concerns brought by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVD-19) pandemic.
“The postponement of the Asia Pacific Predator League, instead of a cancellation, demonstrates Acer’s commitment to the gaming community. With the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we made the best decision to move the competition to Spring 2021 for the safety and best interests of the tournament’s competitors, fans, spectators, and staff,” according to Acer Pan Asia Pacific Regional Operations President Andrew Hou.
Following this, the event has been renamed to Predator League 2020/2021 with the same qualifying teams from the local preliminary competitions vying for the prize pool of USD 400,000.
As a small token of appreciation for the patience of the Predator community, Acer will be giving away complimentary items like a drawstring bag with limited edition Predator League 2020 shirt and face mask for VIP ticket holders, and a Predator shirt for regular ticket buyers.
Acer will be posting instructions on how to claim these on Predator’s official social media channels.
The Predator League is one of the largest gaming events in the world. Its various editions in key cities and places around the world garnered millions of views online.
