BingoPlus Foundation, the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive, turned over P37 million in financial aid to help families affected by Typhoon Kristine in its largest relief effort to date.
According to BingoPlus Foundation, P250,000 was committed to each bereaved family of the 148 confirmed casualties nationwide.
During a turnover ceremony held on November 10 at the Talisay New Municipal Grounds in Batangas, 39 bereaved families were given financial aid. Other recipients from several parts of the country will be given monetary help in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Present during the event to personally hand over the financial aid were First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos, DSWD undersecretary Pinky Romualdez, and DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco with Batangas governor Hermilando Mandanas, Batangas vice governor Mark Leviste, Talisay mayor Nestor Natanauan, Bacolod mayor Albee Benitez, BingoPlus Foundation COO Celeste Jovenir, and other and local leaders.
Apart from the financial aid, the BingoPlus Foundation with the DSWD National Resource Operations Center also donated sacks of rice to 750 families through the help of volunteers who repacked and distributed the supplies to affected provinces.
BingoPlus Foundation also partnered with ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya efforts to extend support to 1,000 families in Isabela, Aurora, Pangasinan, and Quezon who were also impacted by Typhoon Kristine.
“The BingoPlus Foundation stands by our communities not only with aid but with resilience, unity, and hope,” said DigiPlus Interactive chairman Eusebio Tanco. “In moments like these, our commitment to making a difference is stronger than ever.”
To date, BingoPlus Foundation has donated over P100 million for nationwide projects related to urgent community needs for healthcare, livelihood programs, and educational grants.
