After five years, Cebuana Lhuillier brings back its “Happiest Pinoy” campaign, a search for Filipinos who embody hope, optimism, and resilience.
According to Cebuana Lhuillier president and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier, the search for the “Happiest Pinoy” recognizes the unbreakable Filipino spirit.
“We’ve seen time and again that, despite adversity, Filipinos always find a reason to smile, to be hopeful, and to spread joy,” he said.
Among the qualified participants in the competition include Filipinos aged 13 and above.
The “Happiest Pinoy” has seven categories namely ‘Masayahing Gen Z’ for the youth, ‘Happy at 60’ for senior citizens, ‘No Way Kapansanan’ for persons with disabilities, ‘Inspiradong Champion’ for workers, ‘Bagong Bayani’ for overseas Filipino workers, ‘Bibo sa Negosyo’ for entrepreneurs, ‘Proud as Pride’ for the LGBTQIA+ members, and ‘Creative Pinoy’ for those in the field of creative arts.
This year, Cebuana Lhuillier also introduced special awards including ‘Katutubo (TRIBO)’ and ‘Happiest Ka-Cebuana.’
To join the search, participants must submit a video entry alongside a form available via the “Happiest Pinoy” social media pages via email to happiestpinoy2024@gmail.com.
Participants may also get a physical copy of the form at any Cebuana Lhuillier branch and return a filled out copy to the nearest branch.
The video and the form should “share experiences of optimism and joy,” Cebuana Lhuillier said.
Cebuana Lhuillier will grant a cash prize of P500,000 to the grand winner, P250,000 each to special awards winners, and P35,000 each for category winners.
The last edition of Cebuana Lhuillier’s “Happiest Pinoy” in 2019 named 37-year-old public school teacher Zaldy Bueno as the grand winner.
Bueno, from Gumaca in Quezon City, shared his advocacy of changing children’s lives through education.
