The recent IDP Education Philippines’ Study Abroad Expo 2015 held at the Makati Shangri-La last October 10 was a great success!
Aside from the number of key speakers that included education experts, as well as representatives of some of the top universities abroad, thousand students who has high hopes in continuing their studies overseas gathered on the said event.
The expo was open to everyone, to provide free counseling and seminar, and help students have access to great opportunities that studying abroad offers. It was IDP, the leading provider of global education services and International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exams in the country who put the expo together.
The attendees were able to have an overview of the processes that are involved in enrolling in universities in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, and the United States of America, and learn the process of getting a student visa, choose the country and the university, and getting into a program that suits their interests.
Among the speakers who gave out some helpful tips to students were Ben Burrowes, the Regional Communications & Strategic Relations Manager for South & Southeast Asia. Burrowes launched a very interesting question and answer segment for students who were considering universities in New Zealand. For those interested in going to Canada instead, Canadian Trade Commissioner Angel Cachuela gave a picture of the country’s education system. Then, Australian Trade Commission’s Education Manager Benjie Garcia talked about the future of students who are planning to enroll at universities in Australia. Students were all ears as each of the speakers gave them a glimpse of their future as international students.
An excellent list of schools from different countries also participated in the expo, including University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, University of Auckland, Curtin University, Deakin University, Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, International College of Hotel Management, University of South Australia, Victoria University, University of Western Sydney, Box Hill Institute of TAFE, Kent Institute of Business and Technology, University of Technology Sydney, Griffith University, AIH Higher Education, Study Group Australia Pty Ltd, and La Trobe University. A total of 45 institutions were in attendance at the event. This offered students a lot of options as they plan their future with some of IDP’s student counselors and consultants.
