Household name Nestlé Philippines and the local government of Quezon City successfully conducted the ‘Family Wellness Festival’ which centered on educating 4,000 citizens on the importance of good nutrition for a healthier and happier life.
The said activity is part of Nestlé Philippines efforts to celebrate Nutrition Month with a theme, “Healthy diet, gaming affordable for all” which is also aligned with how the company has been producing accessible and nutritious food and beverage products for Filipino families for decades.
One of the highlights of the Family Wellness Festival was the free personal nutrition consultations from registered nutritionists-dietitians. Attendees also received freebies by exchanging empty sachets and tetra packs of Nestlé during the event, as part of the company’s commitment to involve more Filipinos into the ‘Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle’ plastic wastes initiative.
“We at Nestlé Philippines believe that good nutrition starts at home. We are bringing the Family Wellness Festival closer to communities as we strive to provide Citizens with the right information and tips that can help them improve their health and wellness,” said Nestlé Philippines senior vice president and head of corporate affairs Joey Uy III.
Meanwhile, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte also expressed support for the event.
“We strive to provide our Citizens all the support they need to have a healthy mind and body to make them productive, free from ailments and able to live longer,” she said. “But the local government cannot do it alone. We need the support of the private sector to augment our efforts.”
Nestlé Philippines will also be bringing the Family Wellness Festival to Makati City and Caloocan City in August. Interested participants may pre-register at BarangayNestlé.com.ph.
