Redefining AR – Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality (AR) is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are “augmented” by computer-generated or extracted real-world sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. From retail to education, AR can be used practically on a daily base.
Did you know that Augmented Reality started in 1968?
Though AR has gone through a fascinating evolution over the past year, still, there are some challenges in its adaptation. This includes the hardware, its content, and awareness.
To “amp up” the AR game, Epson, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of computers and printers, and information and imaging related equipment has recently launched the Moverio BT-350 and Moverio Pro BT-2200 smart glasses.
Both the new models feature binocular see-through augmented reality capabilities and HD image quality. Leveraging Epson’s patented optical and precision technologies, the Moverio line of smart glasses has micro projectors located on each side of the eyeglasses that project transparent overlays of digital content directly in the user’s field of view over the real-world environment.
