Homegrown Filipino makeup brand Colourette celebrates another milestone as it becomes the first local makeup brand to secure regional funding of USD 2 million from distinguished firms.
Colourette received the grant from Singapore-based DSG Consumer Partners, Foxmont Capital Partners — the brand’s first investor in 2022, and other angel investors.
DSG Consumer Partners managing director and head of Southeast Asia Sameer Mehta said that their firm recognizes Colourette’s “potential to become a major player in the local beauty industry as it continues to reshape and strengthen the Filipino beauty community.”
Colourette’s newly appointed chief operating officer Stephanie Tanjuatco, on the other hand, shared that working with a leading consumer fund provider like DSG Consumer Partners is a significant validation for the brand.
“DSG Consumer Partners and our other investors have such deep understanding in the consumer space that for them to recognize the uniqueness of what we’ve built, as well as believe in how big the brand can be, makes us incredibly proud and excited in our future plans,” Tanjuatco added.
Founded in 2015, Colourette emerged from its founder and CEO Nina Ellaine Dizon’s difficulty in finding makeup that fits her needs.
“I was inspired to create Colourette because before, I had a hard time shopping for makeup. Foundations were too light, lipsticks were too pink — I just felt that it was not made with me in mind,” she said.
The brand introduced its matte lipstick line Coloursticks in 2015 which became an online hit. Colourrette also brought to the market its Colourtint series comprised of multi-use products for the eyes, lips, and cheeks in 24 shades which has solid more than 2 million units to date.
