Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Philippines has launched “Tear It Off – Everyone Is Awesome” campaign to address biases within the gaming and defy stereotypes commonly experienced by Filipino gamers. The campaign by international gaming developer MOONTON Games aims to kickstart a movement to rip off common offensive labels often associated with female gamers, including “fake, weak, or being good at playing support roles.” It also addresses the preconceived notions surrounding LGBTQ+ players who face discrimination – whether in-game or in person.
In collaboration with Filipino actress Andrea Brillantes, renowned gaming personality Alodia Gosiengfiao, esports athletes Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna and Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse, MOONTON Games has released an empowering soundtrack that shares the prejudice they have encountered and encourages listeners to break away from these judgments. For one, OhMyV33NUS was told he can only use a few heroes in-game, specifically Estes.

Breakaway all biases with the #TearItOffChallenge
Starting March 7th until 15th, participate in the #TearItOffChallenge by sharing a story or snippet on Facebook on biases or stereotypical incidents faced. Lucky entrants can take home blind boxes containing MLBB-branded shirts and pullovers, Andrea’s Secret Surprise Accessory Set, or photo cards with signatures from Andrea, OhmyV33nus, Alodia, and Renejay.
In the caption, mention Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s official Facebook account and tag two (2) friends to join. Use the hashtags #TearItOffChallenge #MLBBTearItOff. Winners will be announced through the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Philippines Facebook page on March 10th, 13th, and 16th. All entries will be judged on confidence (70%), creativity (20%), and obedience to rules (10%).
