“Singing praises to the Lord is the highest form of prayer.”

I was invited to cover an event of the 35th anniversary of Ang Dating Daan (ADD). The celebration took place last Monday, Oct 12 at Smart Araneta Coliseum, as Members Church of God International (MCGI) also made an attempt to be the Largest Gospel Choir. Honestly, I am overwhelmed, it was the largest congregation I have attended so far.
An inspirational message by ADD leader, Bro Eli Soriano opened the celebration joined by MCGI satellite centers worldwide via live steaming.
This momentous event set a Guinness World Record for the Largest Gospel Choir with an assembly of 12,000 members. The choir comprises of chorale groups in Metro and Mega Manila, and nearby provincial chapters. Chorale from different satellite centers in the Philippines, South and Central America and Africa also shared their talents in the celebration.

Final and Official record was set by 8,688 piece chorale as official number of Guinness World Records as it is the Largest Gospel Choir as to date.

Hours of singing songs of praises was graced by Guinness Representative, Ms. Fortuna Burke Melhem, who has flown from London, United Kingdom, as official adjudicator.
Iloilo 5th District Rep Niel Tupas Jr. as the official witness of the event.
ADD, being the longest running program on radio and television dedicated this event to Persons With Disabilities (PWD). PWD is one of the several recipients of ADD’s outreach projects from the start. Programs such as free medical missions, legal counselling, and social care among others benefitted groups round the year.

As a highlight of the event, 10 PWD groups were awarded P100K and P10K each for 30 individuals. Everyone from PWD audience with their aides went home with a bag of grocery items.

These two networks along with Wish 107.5 served as the official media partners of the event.

Awesome! I like this event because of the songs presented and mostly PWD groups benefit from it.
