CNN Philippines has officially announced the last day of its operations on all media platforms on January 31, 2024 after its 9-year run affecting about 300 employees due to financial losses of more than P5 billion.
According to reports, CNN Philippines network owner and operator Nine Media Corp. decided to shut down its operations last year but the implementation was delayed after the holiday season.
In a Facebook post, CNN Philippines thanked its staff and viewers for the support.
The network also expressed gratitude to its partners, including CNN Worldwide operated by the Turner Broadcasting Corporation based in the United States.
“Turning the final page of the CNN Philippines newsroom’s story. We are forever grateful for the stories we’ve shared, the audience we’ve served, and to our dedicated team for their commitment to uphold the values of truth, accuracy, fairness, and accountability,” CNN Philippines said.
“Thank you for the privilege to tell the story of the Filipino,” it ended.
