Epson Philippines Corporation partnered with Envirotech Waste Recycling Inc. to repurpose 213 kilograms of recyclable materials, preventing them from ending up as waste.
The initiative, which started in October 2023 in Davao City, is part of Epson Philippines’ commitment to sustainability.
Epson Philippines collected empty ink cartridges, bottles, and boxes from select dealers of corporate printers which Envirotech transformed into school chairs and tables, tiles, pallets, bricks, pots and planters, lamps, garbage bins, and more.
For the first six months of the program, Epson collected 106 kilograms of recyclable materials which doubled in June 2024 through the help of Epson’s partner dealers.
According to Epson, the project will be implemented in Manila and Cebu later this year.
Epson Philippines president and director Masako Kusama said that the program is proof of what can be done to reduce waste and environmental footprint.
“We are excited to see this program further expand, so that we can have a greater positive social impact to more communities in the Philippines,” Kusama said.
