Technology global leader Epson reaffirmed its thrust in leveraging sustainable technologies as it announced new eco-friendly initiatives at its annual ‘Fusion’ media event.
Fittingly dubbed as “The Eco-Connection,” Epson’s event in Cebu highlighted its efforts in creating eco-efficient products and in adopting sustainable practices in its operations.
The company highlighted its use of solar power as the first Japanese manufacturer to transition all its global sites to 100% renewable energy, including its Batangas manufacturing plant.
“At Epson, we have a philosophy called Sho-Sho-Sei—efficient, compact, and precise,” Masako Kusama, President and Director at Epson Philippines. “Aligned with our ‘Engineered for Good’ initiative, the core of what we do is creating products that use less energy and resources throughout their lifecycle.”
Epson continues its heavy investments in decarbonization, resource recycling, and environmental technology development as it pushes to become carbon negative and underground resource-free by 2050.
The company also has an ongoing partnership with WWF-Philippines that include the Mangrove Restoration Project that promotes the importance of shared responsibility in taking care of the environment.
Epson and WWF-Philippines are also set to boost the capabilities of the A.T.E. Atelier Sewing-Recycling Art Studio in Siargao Island by providing machinery, building infrastructure, and empowering the community.
Just recently, the brand also rolled out more eco-conscious solutions for businesses with a new inkjet printer lineup.
