The National Capital Region-Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) Coalition has expressed their support for 2019 senatorial candidate and former special assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go.
Headed by coalition leaders in Metro Manila NCR President Ace Sevilla, the said group backed Go’s campaign during the first TODA Summit held in Baranggay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
Before the said summit, Go went around Pasig City in a motorcade where he received a warm welcome from residents of the said city.
Go expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic reception, noting that his earlier visit in Quezon City also gave him the same warm welcome.
Go also clarified that he visits different provinces in the Philippines not just for his campaign but also to meet with residents and to personally listen to their concerns and stories.
In return of the support given to him, Go vowed to make the welfare of the TODA as one of his key priorities once given a seat in the Senate. He also recalled a chance meeting with Sevilla, which according to Go signaled the beginning of his interest in helping the TODA.
“We met at a small eatery in Pasay. We started talking and he said TODA had many complaints…I said I would bring these up to the President. That’s why we have a TODA Summit,” Go said in Filipino.
Earlier this year, the government hosted a national TODA Summit in Pasay City to find ways on how to address the concerns of tricycle drivers and operators in the country.
