Local advocacy-based skincare and wellness brand ProAge aims to raise awareness on how women experience perimenopause and menopause through a form titled “Don’t Pause for Menopause.”
According to ProAge, the brand targets to extend to the Philippines how menopause is becoming a global rising topic with prominent personalities such as Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, and Naomi Watts utilizing their platforms for the cause.
“A lot of brands discuss women empowerment, but not a lot of them talk about empowering women during the perimenopausal and menopausal phases of their lives,” said ProAge founder Claudine Viquiera. “This topic has been a taboo, but at ProAge, we aim to shatter the stigma surrounding such conversations and address the needs of women in this demographic.”
Viquiera furthered that women should be offered solutions particularly catering to the experiences they go through related to perimenopause and menopause, including hot flashes, mood swings, and anxiety.
The forum, hosted by TV host Suzi Entrata-Abrera, gathered feminine wellness advocates Dr. Annebelle D. Aherrera, OB gynecologist; Michelle Aventajado, Best Buddies Philippines and ProAge advocate; and Viquiera herself.
ProAge delivers products that are designed to manage the symptoms of menopause, specifically concerns related to dryness, sensitivity, breakouts, dullness, and pigmentations.
Its offerings include Meno Gummies, a non-hormonal solution that aims to alleviate brain fog, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and insomnia due to menopause.
Additionally, the brand has skincare products like Be Gentle with Me Bakuchiol Serum. No Dirty Secrets facial cleanser, Eye See Yah eye cream, and the Holy Grail Cica toner.
“Women’s skin goes through a series of changes during menopause, therefore, they should use products that can change with them. They need skincare that is adaptive, potent, and mild, promoting resilience, self-love, and confidence during midlife and beyond,” said Viquiera.
