The Consulate General of the Republic of San Marino in the Philippines, led by Consul General Jean Henri Diago Lhuillier, is spearheading a noteworthy initiative to advance inclusive education and empower Filipino learners for the future.
The program has made its way to public schools and Alternative Learning System (ALS) centers across the country—from bustling cities like Manila, Pasig, Quezon City, Caloocan, and Parañaque to far-flung communities such as Bongao in Tawi-Tawi and Banocboc in the Calaguas Islands. Learners in over a dozen schools, including Rafael Palma Elementary School, Nagpayong Elementary School, San Isidro National High School, and Juliana Elementary School, have directly benefited from the program’s unique blend of cultural, financial, and technological education. Other schools in remote areas are lined up for partnership and visitation this year such as those located in Ifugao, Camiguin, Mindoro, South Cotabato, Masbate, among others.
Consul General Lhuillier highlighted the driving vision behind the initiative: “Inclusive and quality education is the foundation of a better society. By working hand-in-hand, we can empower learners with the skills and values they need to shape their future and uplift their communities. This program reflects our belief that education must evolve with the times—integrating culture, financial awareness, and digital readiness to truly prepare the youth for tomorrow.”
At its heart, the initiative underscores the Consulate’s commitment not only to cultural preservation through book donations but also to preparing young Filipinos for a rapidly changing digital economy. By introducing financial literacy and artificial intelligence modules, the program equips learners with practical life skills and future-ready knowledge—giving them the confidence to thrive in both daily living and tomorrow’s world of work.
