It’s alarming to know how people’s greed slowly ruining the world. Pollution coming from different factories, cars, wastes, and dirt are the some of the possible reasons of the thinning of the ozone layer.
An exhibit held at the Oceanarium of the Manila Ocean Park entitled, “Expedition: Danajon Bank” was presented by Dra.Amanda Vincent, the guest speaker and was attended by various bloggers and writers in the Philippines.
The advocacy focused on saving the seahorses and other marine animals by decreasing the wastes and protecting their habitats. According to Dra.Vincent, Danajon Bank, located in the Philippines, was the best spot to start the said advocacy. Because of its rich, precious, and wondrous bodies of water and its marine biodiversity. Together with BFAR (Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources), this advocacy is continuously growing and is expected to reach the other countries in the world.
By showing this exhibit, people would be aware of what is happening in the our environment and for us to realize what selfishness and greediness are we having. It’s better to be prepared and make actions for this serious matter than to be sorry.
The exhibit cited many destructive problems and promoted many possible solutions that can solve the problem. They also introduced an application called ‘iseahorse’ where in you can post pictures of seahorse from anywhere and know different facts about seahorses.
Its main objective is to tract the remaining species of seahorses in the country. By means of posting the pictures of the seahorses, or by just describing the sea creature, experts will know the kind of specie and later will tract the possible population of the said seahorse.
The campaign was warmly appreciated and welcomed, and we hope it touched everyone’s hearts.
