Appreciate Agriculture the Paradizoo Way
On its sixth week, Paradizoo’s Power of Three 2014 featured the Livestock Festival Week.
Mr. Robert Yupangco of Zoomanity Group together with Mr. Melvin of DOST, Mr. Jeff who is also into livestock industry from Australia and scientist Mr. Aldrich, lectured on the learning topic of the day: “From Farm selection to Breeding them right: Goats and Sheep in the Philippines.”
Bring in the theme park cum farm zoo animals to showcase exceptional talents. These animals engages very tough training, requires them and their trainers a lot of patience which makes them more extraordinary compared to other zoo animals. After the show, the guests were given the chance to take pictures with these remarkable animals.
Once the animal show has ended, media people and the guests were guided to their first stop: goat milking station with a brief discussion on how to milk the goats. Goat’s average milk production is 8-10 liters a day which will make you 800-1000php income for 200php per liter.
Have you ever heard of a technology invented to get rid of the stinky smell of manure? Well, Mr. Aldrich, a scientist works on these Atomic Vitamins/super boosters that energize the cell. Undigested protein makes manure smell horrible, atomic vitamin helps the cell to digest all the protein the goat has taken which makes manure odorless.
Breeding cattle, goat, and sheep made the discussion more interesting. In Paradizoo, you will encounter loose grazed cattle and even witness sheep shearing. While roaming around, Mr. Jeff from Australia shared a lot of information, techniques, and practices on how to breed goats. Reveals the technology education is the secret to double their production. Did you know that the population of livestock in Australia is bigger than their population? They are about 43M while they have approximately 200M sheep, and a lot more from cattle to goats.
Mr. Melvin of DOST, shares entrepreneurship and science programs. Conduct trainings and do the favorable connections with the other institutions, public or private, related to their studies concerning technology development of agriculture in the Philippines. Focus in transforming traditional farming into smart farming for greater productivity.
Lastly, Paradizoo’s promoting Greyhound as a sport. Pointed out by Mr. Robert Yupangco, Greyhounds were not just for a pet or a guard, these dogs can actually engage into sport which they call greyhound racing will soon launch in Paradizoo.
