With the announcement that the rainy season is officially here, many have begun to take the necessary preparations to make sure that the rains do not hamper their daily routines.
A lot of people have started to water-proof their homes, while others have started to pack their rain gears as they head off to work or school.
And then there are those who want to make sure that they have themselves or their loved ones covered even before stepping out for the day or planning where to spend their weekend.
These are the types of people who will find the WeatherPhilippines App useful. Launched by the Aboitiz Group, in partnership with UnionBank, the app was developed to complement the government’s disaster risk reduction management initiatives in providing localized weather information for the country.
WeatherPhilippines App, which can be downloaded for FREE with just one tap, gives the public a detailed weather forecast and enables the user to track typhoons and pinpoint areas that will be most affected. Colors and warnings based on world meteorological standards are used to make the weather warnings more visible to the user. The labels can also be customized so it can provide an easy overview of the weather data of a specified location.
This app is being supported by LBC, the nation’s leading cargo and Logistics Company, which has readily installed in its branches some of the 800 automated weather stations which operates the app.
Working with LBC to support this initiative are SM Supermalls, ICTSI, Vista Land, NickelAsia, the Ayala Group and La Filipina Uy Gongco Corporation.
The WeatherPhilippines app is available for download in both the AppStore and PlayStore.
